Mr. Bowie, I have a question [Dec. 23rd, 2009|02:19 pm]
Was Sarah Michelle Gellar in the music video for "I'm afraid of Americans"? Towards the middle (1:33 or so).

Amazon Store, now done(ish) [Mar. 8th, 2009|12:42 pm]
I have just finished putting up my Amazon store on my site. Go to, click on the must haves link in the upper left corner, and you will see all of the things that I have currently hand picked. The cool thing about this is if you buy any item (whether it is one I picked out or not) I get a small percentage of the purchase, even if the item is used! A lot of my friends have empathized with our situation and have expressed wishes to help. Well I know a bunch of you are book hounds (music hounds/movie hounds, etc.), so here is your opportunity.

Weird Question... [Feb. 14th, 2009|12:29 pm]
If I can not find a business on the Better Business Bureau's website, is that a bad thing? I was researching Upstream Business Solutions and I can't find anything about them except on yelp (and that was 75% bad!). The website search bar doesn't work and doesn't look very professional. Does anyone have any advise?

Laptop Questions [Nov. 14th, 2008|08:27 pm]
[mood |blahblah]

So Cory and I are trying to find a laptop for me, and quite frankly I am completely lost when it comes to finding out what is right for me.
What I need a laptop for:
*Internet (checking email, running a few games (Ragnarok online is the most intensive), livejournal, etc.)
*Keeping up with the home stuff, like taxes and word docs
*A hookup for my Ipod.

Things I know:
*I need something with a 15.4 inch screen, I have a backpack for such a screen size and do not wish to shop for a new bag too.
*I do not ever wish to own a Dell ever again.
*I need to keep the total price of this thing under $600 by checkout (so something cool with rebates and coupons and online discounts is welcome).
*I would prefer not a Mac, as they tend to be expensive. I have no great love for windows machines, other then they are in my price range.

Hit me with your best suggestions, or at least help with what I need to look for when comparing laptops.

The Graveyard Book on audio...So want [Oct. 4th, 2008|09:40 pm]

[mood |bouncybouncy]

I may be a bit behind, but Neil Gaiman has a new book out called The Graveyard Book. I had to listen to the first chapter online because it is preformed by Neil Gaiman, and I could listen to that man for hours. Anyway, I need to set up a wish list. I so want it on audio, and I am normally a paper book person.

Well, at least it's not brain eating moths... [Sep. 3rd, 2008|08:33 pm]
Life right now kinda sucks. Lack of money sucks. Lack working computer sucks. Work has gotten extra stressful because we as a team are not making our sales goals. Cory started up school again, but financial aid will be S-L-O-W coming. Let's start up at the top of the suck list.

1.) Lack of money - Even though I had carefully budgeted and am making more then I did at Borders, we are dead broke. Like I don't know if I can afford groceries before payday, or even after.
2.) Lack of working computer - My Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop's power supply has died. I know it's not the battery because I can still use the computer, but the battery isn't charging. It isn't the cable because that is getting power (lil' light on and everthing). And from what I have found, is even if I do the repairs myself, this is not going to be cheap. Back to problem one.
3.) Work - OMG. I have been selling my little heart out and have been making some numbers, but it is not close to our overall goal. I have a feeling that the weakest salesperson on our team is going to be leaving soon, which places us back to understaffed and overworked.
4.) Cory and financial aid - once this gets straitened out, then problem one and two will be fixed. But there is still a bunch of paperwork still pending. Some that we need to do/have done, some the school needs to get off their asses to do, some Cory's grant folks need to do. So we will not see the first dispersement until late October at the earliest.

Sorry to vent. I needed its. Some of you kind hearted folks are maybe thinking "well that all does indeed suck, but what can I do?" Well, short of walking into my office and investing several thousand dollars with my bank, you can stop by my website. Http:// Click on any Amazon link and do your normal shopping. I get a small percentage of the sale. You get the cool stuff you were going to buy anyway, I get a couple bucks. Also, click on any Google link. Google gives me a few cents every time someone clicks on a link or does a search from my site. Otherwise, good thoughts and laughs are always welcome.

I am working on again. I have forgotten so much that wintersweet has taught me, and online help is not helping. This is going to need a more direct method of fixing ((grabs a hammer and duct tape)). I'll be back.

I have had it with this week. If one more thing happens this week, I am going to go postal. Sunday our car got totaled by our apartment's security company. One of the security guards plowed into our car. We were inside asleep. Thankfully the insurance company has been very accommodating, we even have a rental car, no charge to us. Tuesday we heard back from the apartment complex we are trying to get into, and we did get the apartment. The down side you ask? We have to move in this weekend. We still aren't packed. I have a new job where I am handling large amount of cash on a daily basis. Not just counting it, but handling people's lives. So I have been working all week, trying to learn all I can so that I can get full privileges, like my own cash drawer. Wednesday, we found out that our car is legally totaled. It would cost much more then the car is worth to fix it. Today, when I checked my bank statement to see if the $2600 that I moved over from one account into my main account had hit yet, I found that instead the $2600 had moved from my main account to my other account. That money was for our deposit and first months rent. There was nothing either bank could do about it. Thankfully I get paid tomorrow, but that still won't be enough. Clint, our soon to be former roommate, lent me the remainder. So far, that has been the only good thing that has happened this week. Tonight, we had a friend stop by our front door as we were heading out for our game, crying. Cory is still out there with him, trying to calm him down. So help the fresh hell that should appear on Friday. I am in no mood.

I got a new job!!! I am still with Borders, but at a super part time bases. I found the lack of promotions upsetting, and it was just time to leave. I have been at the same company for five years, its time to go. I will now be a teller at a credit union in Milpitas, and it seems like I will have a better chance for advancement at that company. Plus better hours, better pay, Sundays off, it's the good life.
